Storytelling is an age-old tradition found at the heart of learning in all cultures. It forms a key part in developing a child’s personality, because stories impart information, develop imagination and help children make sense of the world around them. Through story telling children can explore meaningful messages which convey the virtues of courage, responsibility, respect and integrity.

In the Wellington Academy Programme storytelling sessions children are invited to listen to and enjoy a story which is read in English and then take part in a creative activity based on the theme of the story. The stories will enable children to become familiar with new words and phrases and correct pronunciation. The stories will fuel children’s curiosity empowering them to develop their listening skills and understanding.
